Hi Duncan. No, I wasn't talking about WRAG but rather the Capability for Work interview that one used to have to attend - got my letters round the wrong way! Bearing in mind some cases (although not the OP's), there is the possibility of the claimant being placed in the Support Group of ESA, should their needs warrant it.
The Work Capability Assessmnt is normally carried out 14 weeks after the ESA claim has been awarded ( well, the regulations say after 14 weeks a WCA should be carried out. But we all know how slow the DWP are to arrange a WCA) A first time ESA claim backed by a sick note from the GP is normally assessed and awarded in two to four weeks.
