It's a week since my first blood test 'to see why you have high blood pressure', and I'm now a certified diabetic. I've been given metformin and also lisinopril for kidney function and blood pressure.
I have been referred to a specialist unit at the local hospital, an ultrasound to check my innards, diabetic nurse appointment and appointment with my doctor to review a full liver work up and medication check. I know many people here have a tough time with their docs but I am so impressed by the speed care and attention that I've received so far. Long live the NHS.
So I don't know what type I am yet - I assume T2 but basically it looks like I've been diabetic for a very long time so my doc is being cautious and wants the specialists at the hospital to take over.
Because it's been undiagnosed for so long it looks like there's kidney problems - and my blood pressure is through the roof. There was also some liver indicators but have to wait and see what they really are, probably next week.
So - a bit of a mad week with highs and lows (badum-ch). Looking forward to really getting on with managing it all properly and getting healthy.
