Normal socks are generally too tight at the top unless one is built like a drainpipe! Tight socks are not avisable for the circulation problems diabetic and heart patients have. D.
I had a problem with normal socks and circulation so I cut through the elasticated part with scissors it relieved the pressure and resulting discomfort.
I never used to wear socks, but when I was diagnosed I did start to wear them
So long as the ankles aren't tight, and the toes don't rub, I find they're ok now.
(However, I can't be bothered pairing them, so I never actually wear matching socks.)
