Wow, very impressed with your progress! Am I right to say that you have reversed your diabetes by low carb diet, intensive physical activities, plus careful control of BG level?

BTW, do you test BG levels before/after meals daily?

Thanks

Thanks.

I test 6am and 6pm, and try to do 2 hours after my heaviest carb meal of the day (or anything out of the ordinary), though sometimes this last one isn't possible. I did test after every meal to start with but have cut that back now. If my baseline values change I will test more thoroughly again.

For me, what I like about this diet is that I can cook and eat normally with my family. I just have smaller portions of spud, pasta, rice, bread etc than they do but all the rest is the same. Of course, if this approach proves not to work in the end I may try lower carb but the likelihood is that my carbs will go up slightly when I have reached target weight. At that point I will test more intensively until I'm happy that things are stable.

No, not yet. I'm not a huge fan of honey so it hasn't come up yet.
Have you tried cronometer? It is a free website where you can keep your food diary and it does all the calculations for you for macro and micronutrients etc. You can also keep record of a lot of biometrics, weight, BG etc. It may be of some use to you.

Thanks, I don't know cronometer, will take a look first. Do you use it to track your food, BG levels, etc?

Any app can be used to support BG testing before and after a given food? So basically support BG testing before and after food/meal:) Not sure if such apps yet today.

In fact I was thinking to use myFitnessPal for my daily food, plus BG level tracking, but have not started yet.

Fairly carb day yesterday even for me:
B/fast - Greek yoghurt with berries and flaxseed
Mid-morn - blueberry muffin (somebody was retiring and it was saying eat me so I did!)
Lunch - roast beef sandwich with Tesco's protein bread, Greek yoghurt and berries
Tea - 3 Black Farmers Pork Sausages, baked beans and about 2 tablespoons of mashed spud - before 5.4, after 1 hour 7.5 and after 2 hours 6.3 so not too bad. Didn't do after 3 hours because some Hagen Das ice cream jumped out of the freezer!!
