I am completing a short case study for a screening qualification. I wonder if somebody would be kind enough to answer a questionnaire for me. I only need one but am running a little short on time. I could send you the questions and you can send them back. I don't need your name. I'd anybody would be kind enough to help that would be great. I reckon it would take about 20 minutes to complete .
Thanks all

Hello @prscreen - It would help members on the site to know more about what you are looking for. So can you please give us some more information as to what this is for and what type of questions are involved. Members are not allowed to give their email addresses out on the site so can you explain how you are going to gather the answers for your questionnaire ?

Ah. I understand. By private message then. Questions are very simple. For example:-
What age when diagnosed?
What were symptoms?
Medication history
Co-morbidity.

It's not a problem if unsuitable for this forum but is completely anonymous.

Hi @prscreen

If you only need one person, I am happy to volunteer.
New members are unable to create PMs for their first few posts, so I will start a PM for you, and you can respond in that.

The only proviso is whether I fit your criteria (you have posted in the Type 1 section of the forum, so you may only want a type 1 to respond) - I am a type 2, with co-morbidities, currently controlled by diet and exercise, no prescription drugs for diabetes.

Let me know if that works for you. :)

Thank you so much for the offer but I need a person with Type 1. Preferably somebody who knows about history of when they were diagnosed and what tests/readings they had. I should also say that I am running out of time to write this up so if anyone wants to help please post soon. TIA

What is a screening qualification?
All the staff involved in taking and/or grading photos for diabetic eye screening have to study for a specialised qualification which requires knowledge of various topics including principles of screening, the eye, photographing the retina, grading images for diabetic retinopathy, and diabetes and its complications.

There's a new qualification that started this year called the Diploma for Health Screeners (Diabetic Eye) (you can see some of the detail here:- https://qualifications.pearson.com/...n_Edexcel_L3_Diploma_for_Health_Screeners.pdf )

- but there are still some people finishing off the old qualification which included this assignment:-
Write two short case studies based on a personal interview, one with a patient with Type 1 diabetes and one with a patient with Type 2 diabetes, under the following headings: • Patient profile (age, sex, ethnic group, occupation). • Date of diagnosis and age at diagnosis. • Family history of diabetes. • Past history of gestational diabetes. • Presenting symptoms. • Method of diagnosis. • Location of management (GP/hospital). • Self monitoring (glucose, BP). • Existing co-morbidity. • Current and past treatment of diabetes, including reasons for changes in management. • Diabetic complications. • Management of risk factors for potential/current complications through life style or medication.

Students are supposed to use their case studies to illustrate the differences between type 1 and type 2 diabetes.
