Hi Celast, I believe that they can. I had a friend at work who's Husband was a type 1 diabetic and I do know that he used viagra - she was very open about it and when you think of the erectile dysfunction that can accompany diabetes then it makes sense but as always ask a HCP or Pharmacist for advice, Deb x

Hi. Yes, you can. I have been prescribed it and occasionally take the blue pill. It helps a bit but does cause headaches sometimes and a strange pinkish tinge to whites for an hour or two.

Six months after I was diagnosed my Nurse Practitioner asked if I had any erectile problems and prescribed viagra, I eventually changed to Cealis which is quicker acting and longer lasting. Totally safe for diabetics. Do not jusy buy them ask for them to be prescribed.

i was told upon diagnosis that if i had any complications getting it up so to speak that it would be available so therefore i cant see why diabetics cant use it

Hi celast, the good news is yes, i am a type2 diabetic. Diabetics can take viagra. :D One of my doctor's is one of the country's leading Erectile Dysfunction doctors, and i was on 20mg Cialis. This has stopped working for me unfortunately, and more than somewhat dispondent, i went back to see him about it, he has started me on 1x20mg Cialis in the morning that we are having sex, and 1/2 a 100mg Viagra 1 hr before bedtime. If you get that bad, you can ask to see a doctor that specialises in E.D problems and ask him about it. BTW, it works wonderfully.

The Cialis is good, but over time, the testosterone reduces in the body. Then the Cialis needs a gentle  nudge to give us our fun (and our Lady friends too - hehe). The Viagra does raise the blood pressure, and give you a more painful headache, but it is well worth the extra, in my opinion.

You know what they say - ni pain, no gain. But the pain is so little, compared to the family jewels still working ok. Well worth the effort. Even my wife is happy now.

I thought that Viagra LOWERED blood pressure rather than raising it? Have I got it wrong? Is anyone who's been prescribed Viagra also on blood pressure tablets, for example Losartan Potassium? ......Basically what I'm trying to find out is...
if you're taking.. ooooh lets say about 100mg of Losartan Potassium a day... are you still able to take Viagra safely??
