Type 2, diagnosed 7 months.

One year before diagnosis I was too ill to work with immune system problems, multiple illnesses and infections. Five months after diagnosis, change of diet, Metformin, I'm back doing a job I love, Medical Secretary in a Psychiatric Hospital. I work 37.5 hours a week, enjoy my work and have some energy left when I come home. That's something unusual for me, because since I started work at 16, I used to just about get through the day, then come home and flop. It was always a struggle to do anything after a full days work. I think I was borderline diabetic for a very, very long time.

I'm up at 6.30am at work by 9.00, home by 5.30 and ready for bed by 9.30-10pm every night. As long as I get enough sleep I seem to be able to cope OK so I hope that continues.
