Hi Zoe .

Most of us get ours from a GP/HOSPITAL prescription .
Especially when insulin using/needed .

They 'can' be bought also from chemists or the internet or even
on ebay too .
Various size ones too are available ...
Travel sixed ones are handy to take out on holidays etc

Hope this info can help you further .

You can ask your own GP surgery if they would accept it to dispose of it
for you .
Some surgeries will do and others dont .
Dunno how or why this is the case ?
But it is how things are within communities and towns nowadays .
Mine accepts mine - so I drop mine off there !

Or you can phone up your local council .
They should do a collection of sharps bin day
(mine is every other Tues here in leyland lancs)
They even leave a new sharps bin when picking up the full one !
All you have to do is get updated onto their system .
Ring up the week before and it will get collected on the relevant day
they do the collection/drop off service.

My local chemist does not offer an sharps bin for incineration anymore.
The collectors for incineration only accept the chemists sharps bins 'ONLY'
Again dunno how or why this is so ?
Yet they still accept unused or unwanted medicines needed to be disposed off safetly !

You could try asking yor own chemist ?
They may possibly offer this service to you .
Worth a try - if its closer for you .
Mine however will not .

Hi,

My lancets can be disposed of in normal household rubbish, or so it says on the box.
