Wed, 23 May 2007
Diabetics across Canada and North America are being told to ‘wait-and-see’ what the upshot is of Food and Drug Administration warnings over diabetes blockbuster drug Avandia. To put the concerns into context – two-thirds of diabetic people die from heart problems. As many as one million diabetics in the USA are taking Avandia.

Experts across the country are calling for more information. The ADA have released a statement encouraging diabetics to speak to their doctors before stopping any medication. The FDA has stopped short of a total recall due to ongoing studies suggesting a contradictory effect .
