According to recent reports regarding the South Asian community in the UK, a health time-bomb could be ticking and ready to blow in the next 30 years. Diabetes in the Asian community is soaring, and campaigners have put together a film that aims to raise awareness about the disease .
According to the reports, people of South Asian origin are six times more likely to develop type 2 diabetes when compared to Caucasian members of the UK population. A new Bollywood-esque comedy production could help to educate people, whilst making them laugh.
Sweet Talk concerns the activities of 55-year old Bobby, who eats a lot and doesn’t take any exercise . Bobby realises he is at risk and takes action. The film was created by Dr. Gujral of the South Asian Health Foundation (SAHF.) Diabetes and obesity have reached epidemic levels in the UK.
