According to a new study in Canada, the bra size of a woman aged 20 could be a major predictor of her risk of developing type 2 diabetes at a later date. The researchers concluded that larger cup size was directly linked to higher incidence of diabetes .
The research team found that women with higher cup sizes (B,C and D) were likely to develop the disease at a greater rate than women with A cup bras . The research team accounted for a variety of factors to reach their conclusion, including family history, level of activity, smoking, BMI and others.
The lead author of the study, Dr. Joel Ray, reportedly commented: "I think the take-home message is that we have a new and thought provoking concept about how breast fatness or breast fat might be viewed as a contributor to Type 2 diabetes risk in a woman."
The study was published in the Canadian Medical Association Journal.
