According to reports from America, diabetes company Medtronic Inc is upping their investment in diabetes . The company is increasingly looking to boost levels of people with diabetes who use insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitors .

Medtronic are the largest stand-alone medical device manufacturer in the world. The company is looking to increase diabetes technology spend by 35 per cent this year, the aim being to create next-generation devices that are easier to use and manage diabetes more efficiently.

Two exciting new products that are expected to be approved soon include an insulin pump with a safety feature that shuts off insulin delivery when blood sugar goes too low, and an insulin ‘patch’ pump to eliminate pump tubing.
