Garlic based diabetes tablets

According to recent diabetes research, a tablet based on garlic could treat type one and type two diabetes .

The drug, which is based on vanadium and allaxin, compounds found in garlic, was tested on mice with type 1 diabetes . The animals tests were found to have reduced blood glucose levels after taking the drug.

Published in Metallonmics, the journal of the Royal Society of Chemistry, the Japanese study holds diabetes promise. The drug has promise both as an oral and an injectable treatment for diabetes .

The study was conducted by experts at the Suzuka University of Medical Science. The researchers intend to further develop the drug to test on diabetic humans in the future.
