A special charity walk for diabetes has raised over £35,000 to support diabetes research . The Walk to Cure Diabetes, held in Plymouth, was announced as the most successful to date.
Over 600 people walked for diabetes on September 21st in Saltram Park, Plymouth. The cash is distributed to diabetes charity, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
The chair of the walk, Nigel Godefroy, reportedly commented: "This is brilliant news, and I would like to thank everyone who participated. With the support of people from Plymouth, we have made a fantastic contribution to Type 1 diabetes research – research that may one day help the thousands of people in the UK with the condition."
The chief executive of the JDRF, Karen Addington, reportedly commented: "The Plymouth Walk is one of six walks that have taken place across the UK, and we would like to thank everybody who has taken part in this event for joining us and playing their part in helping to find the cure."
