Diabetes news today reported a national audit of hospital inpatients services for people with diabetes, starting from late September. The audit will aim to tackle concerns regarding the care of patients with diabetes .
The aim of the audit will be to analyse inpatient activity, including patient experience at acute hospitals throughout England. The audit will be run by NHS Diabetes .
The national clinical lead for inpatient care, Dr. Gerry Rayman, reportedly commented: "The audit will provide information on current staffing levels for inpatient diabetes, the standards of care provided and the size of the problem in terms of patient numbers, morbidity, harm and patient dissatisfaction."
