According to diabetes news, pharmaceutical company Sanofi-Aventis US have announced the launch of a multimedia resource to help provide children with type 1 diabetes and their families with essential information and tools to deal with the first 30 days following diagnosis.
Known as the KidCare Kit, the resource has been developed in conjunction with diabetes charity Children With Diabetes . To get it right, the team researched families of children with diabetes and got feedback from a variety of health professionals.
Founder and CEO of Children with Diabetes, Jeff Hitchcock, reportedly commented: "When a child is diagnosed with type 1 diabetes it impacts the entire family and parents can often feel emotionally and physically overwhelmed in the first weeks and months following their child's diagnosis. With the diabetes KidCare Kit, we hope to provide resources and tools to help these families get through the first 30 days after their child's diagnosis."
