Following diabetes news reports yesterday that a Department of Health document showed diabetes and obesity levels to be at an all-time high, it also apparently highlighted that life expectancy had reached a similar peak.
The survey showed that 24.4% of men and 23.6% of women were obese, whilst 4.2% of women and 5.6% of men face diabetes . Life expectancy had climbed however, with 81.7 years and 77.5 years for women and men respectively.
In further diabetes news, doctors in the UK are debating whether they will start screening for pre-diabetes . Pre-diabetes or impaired glucose tolerance can easily lead to type 2 diabetes .
