According to recent reports in diabetes news, over 15,000 children in Bangladesh have been suffering from diabetes due to a lack of exercise and a poor diet . The President of the Diabetic Association of Bangladesh recently went on record regarding the child diabetes incidence.
AK AzadKhan was reported as commenting: "There are over 15,000 children diabetes patients in Bangladesh who need special care and treatment to cope with the disease. We should not treat our children suffering with diabetes like adult patients. There should have different approaches in treating children otherwise the disease may strike a big blow to their future growth"
Senior DAB official Farid Kabir reportedly said: "Although the second type of diabetes, develops mostly in people that are over 40-year old, is rare in childhood its incidence is on the rise owing to lack of exercise and poor diet. Insulin is a must for these patients."
