According to diabetes news today, the diabetes charity Diabetes UK has appointed a new Diabetes UK Chief Medical Advisor. Dr. Brian Karet will take on the role, which is joint sponsored by Diabetes UK and the Royal College of General Practitioners.
Dr. Karet will help to ensure that the government and professionals recognise the role of Diabetes UK in shaping the future of diabetes care and research. The aim, of course, is to ensure the highest possible quality of care for people with diabetes .
Dr. Karet was reported in diabetes news as commenting: "I am absolutely delighted to be taking up this post which is sponsored by Diabetes UK and the RCGP. It is the first of its kind and I am very privileged. Diabetes is a serious condition that is affecting more and more people every day. I am passionate about making the best diabetes care available to everyone and this role will certainly support those efforts."
