As part of a series of challenges created by leading diabetes charity Diabetes UK, a number of supporters of the charity have taken a sponsored stroll along the seafront at Cleethorpes, a classic UK holiday destination.
Over a dozen walkers gathered for the annual event, which was held despite high winds. The charity walk will help to raise money for people with diabetes .
Deputy Mayor of North East Lincolnshire, Doug Pickett, was reported in diabetes news as commenting: "I'm really happy to be able to open the walk today because, as a diabetic myself, I know it's a good cause. There's a lot of diabetics in this country, including a lot of children who have to inject themselves with insulin every day for the rest of their lives."
