You may remember the story of the schoolboy author, Max Woodward, that we wrote about at the beginning of June. At the time, he had just published his book, The Time Machine, to raise money for the charity Diabetes UK, because his sister suffered from the metabolic condition.
Well, the book, available at Myebook.com, has now become a runaway success with over 5,400 viewings, and such is the interest that Max, who is eight years old, is already writing the follow-up, The Time Machine Again, which is due to be released next month.
The Time Machine, is featured on the home page of Diabetes UK and many other diabetes websites, and is offered to the public for free. Despite this, it has now raised over GBP150 for Diabetes UK, as well as increasing awareness of the disease .
There have been many heart-warming comments left on the website about the book and desire to help his sister with her type 2 diabetes . Max, who lives near High Wycombe, wants to be a writer when he grows up, as well as a cricketer and an actor. This is obviously a young man with talent.
