Treatments that are against the grain, lots of drama and NHS doctors

Controversial advice was released this week, sparking some outrage in the scientific community.

The National Obesity Forum (NOF) and the Public Health Collaboration (PHC) both spoke out against the recommended national health guidelines, releasing a report stating that eating more fat and less carbs can protect health, despite the fact that the national guidelines say differently.

With the low-carb movement on the forum and 125,000 people in the Low Carb Program, people are experiencing the difference that low-carb can make to people with diabetes (regardless of type) and how it can help people control their blood glucose levels.

Public Health England strongly defended the high-carb low-fat diet recommended by the national health guidelines. Check out the story here to find out all the drama.

Researchers at Aberdeen University are investigating whether the meditation technique can lead to lower blood glucose levels and reductions in anxiety and depression.

Of course, mindfulness isn't the only off-piste treatment that has been studied in regards to diabetes (cannabis has been found by some studies to have certain benefits for diabetes management) so we won't be surprised if the study turns up some positive results.

Can I eat fruit?
People get confused with fruit. On the one hand, it offers loads of vitamins and minerals. On the other, some fruits are full of sugar. So, should you be eating it?

We're still so excited to have passed the 200,000 members milestone on the forum, but that already in the past! We're just about to break past 202,000 member's already - so make sure you join up and join in.

Summer is undeniably here (well, it's good for the UK!). We're now in danger of getting sunburnt (so make sure to keep hydrated, watch out for hypos and keep your sun cream stocked up) and many of us are thinking of summer holidays. While you're browsing all the lovely sunny resorts, make sure you don't forget to get a free and instant travel insurance quote.

Finally, I wanted to share the Low Carb Program with you as we're celebrating 125,000 members! 80% of people who complete the program lose weight... and 1 in 10 lose more than 20lbs - you can't complain about that.

Enjoy the sunshine!

PS. Is a Nutri Bullet just a fad? - "I had a good look at one of these... is it an expensive fad?"
