To help our community, Diabetes.co.uk has revamped our life insurance and travel insurance pages. We are starting on our mission to make Diabetes.co.uk as useful as possible to the community, but there is so much more to come.

Vegan diet proved effective for Diabetics

A team of US-based doctors are to conduct studies in India with the aim of further proving the efficiency of eating a low-fat vegetarian diet to reverse blood sugar levels amongst diabetic patients.

The body, known as the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine have found that eating a vegetarian diet involving no milk or dairy products could have a surprisingly positive effect on bringing down blood sugar levels.

The diet also lowered cholesterol, blood pressure and even weight amongst diabetics.

Bra size could indicate type 2 diabetes

According to a new study in Canada, the bra size of a woman aged 20 could be a major predictor of her risk of developing type 2 diabetes at a later date.

The researchers concluded that larger cup size was directly linked to higher incidence of diabetes.

Diabetes caused by pollution

According to recent reports, one of the triggers of diabetes could be environmental pollution.

The report was published in the Lancet, and points towards a growing need for researchers to further investigate how environmental pollution could be linked with diabetes.
