Diabetes UK, the leading UK diabetes charity, is to launch a research consultation starting from January 2007.
The aim of the new research approach is to give people the chance to have their say about which research is important, helping UK diabetics to make clear what is important to them.
The Director of Research at Diabetes UK, Angela Wilso, said: “The consultation is part of our Research Strategy, which includes a promise to consult with people with diabetes, healthcare professionals and researchers. I would urge people to make the most of this opportunity – your input to our research priorities is vital.”
The diabetes research consultation will go live on the 2nd January 2007 and run until 31st March 2007. Diabetics will be given the opportunity to complete a research priorities questionnaire. The research strategy furthers the intention of diabetes UK to “improve the lives of people with diabetes and work towards a world without diabetes.”
