An American diabetes event in Tempe Beach Park has raised over $2.3 million for diabetes .
The sponsored ‘walk to cure diabetes’ was presented by GoDaddy.com alongside the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. The funding will now be dedicated to curing type 1 or type 2 diabetes.
The walk has been a successful fundraiser for several years. Extending for 5-kilometers, the walk was completed by many corporate participants from GoDaddy and Albertsons.
The executive director of the local Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation local chapter reportedly commented: “We were thrilled and overwhelmed at the incredible response from the community . It is the support of so many corporations, along with the many families and schools that make the progress toward a cure . . . possible.”
