Research Symposium held by Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation

For the second year in a row, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) will hold a Diabetes Research Symposium in Montreal. The event will be free and open to all and focus on type 1 diabetes . The aim of the event is to inform interested parties and the general public about the advances made by the JDRF in the field of diabetes research .

The Chief Research Advisor of the JDRF, Dr Delovitch, will talk about diabetes research and genetic discoveries, some of which could help to prevent type 1 diabetes entirely . There will also be a discussion about the artificial pancreas project .

Dr. Delovitch reportedly commented: "With the advent of several recent advances in technology and significantly increased funding, JDRF is well-positioned to continue funding world class research in Canada and take even greater strides towards building a bridge to the cure for type 1 diabetes ."
