Sinc September last year I have been having some severe stomach problems and after having two rather intrusive procedures was told that I probably had IBS, trust me when I say that IBS was not my problem.
Anyway while on holiday in Turkey I was rushed into hospital with an infected gall bladder. (which in case you are wondering is my actual diagnosis, NOT by the NHS I would hasten to add) Got back to England went to see my doc and was sent for ultra sound and yes it turns out that it is infected and almost twice the size it should be. Have been told that the waiting time is anything from 4 1/2 months to a year depending on how lucky I am. (please note that after 9 months of being in pain I am not feeling that lucky) Anyway, was given oral morphine and sent home. Tried to explain that I could not work on oral morph as I am a support worker for adults with LD and autism, and not really in my right mind when on that stuff (I think veloceraptors are cute when I am on it) so they gave me co-codomol which makes me vomit. When I mentioned this was given an anti sickness tablet that knock me out (again this makes it a tad hard to work). My problem is that since coming back from holiday the second week in June, I have not kept a single meal down and have had severe diahorrea, yet when I went back to my doctor was told that even though I am a type 2 diabetic and insulin dependant I would still have to wait and to go home and take the oral morph. What worries me, is not so much the wait, totally understand about budgets beds etc.... but am worried about what this is doing to my bloods and any long term effect. By the way also only have one kidney and wondering about the effects of dehydration on it as can't even keep water down. Nobody seems to take me seriously. Even my DN has only said that she could write a letter but it prob wouldn't help. Anybody out there qualified or been through same experience who could give me some advice on what to do next. Am going crazy with the pain . By the way have lost over half a stone in weight in less than three weeks. HELP
