Losing weight -v- hypos

I'm keen to know how any one manages to avoid their glucose levels dropping too far, whilst trying to maintain a healthy diet, and lose the extra inches around their waist at the same time. I eat healthy "brown" food (bran, wholemeal, yoghurt, fruit, veg and all that), but due to my physically demanding job I feel I need to store up on the good carbs to keep me going at least 3 hours after breakfast, when I can be hitting the 2's or 3's (Humulin M3 twice daily). Does any one have any suggestions as to how to keep glucose levels good by avoiding snacks? (Do Glucose tablets work and how many, for how long and do they eliminate the bloated, bunged up stuff that hard food gives?)
