I went for a routine PSA blood test and was called back in about 2 weeks later by the health centre Diabetes nurse. She diagnosed me as being pre diabetic and to come back in 6 weeks. I dutifully lost a stone in weight in that period. Next meeting she confirmed I was diabetic but not why I expected. Blood/Sugar levels were fine but something to do with lipids and tryglcerides or something? She put me on arvostatin and said come back in 6 months for another blood test. Also to continue to lose weight. It was as complex as that - so I have no idea why I am diabetic! I am changing my diet as per recommendations on lots of Diabetes websites> I was not told to check my blood as it wasnt required.
I am confused....
