Worcester Health Authority - Sensor postcode lottery!
Since using the 'Freestyle Libra' my daughter has had far better control of her blood sugars and as such is able to cope with the daily highs and lows associated with diabetes, as well as regaining self confidence and using her words "having beautiful fingers again" through not having to repeatedly having to prick for blood testing.
The financial cost however is a concern; when as a parent you want to provide your child with the best available care and you find yourself in the dilemma of having to choose between being able to find additional income to be able to support the benefits provided to the user by the 'Freestyle Libra', against not providing the facility.
How are others managing this situation?
I understand that some counties have been provided this resource by the NHS, however, Worcestershire appear not to have participated. As Worcestershire is one of the largest counties- can anyone please advise me as to how to lobby and to who, in order for the children in Worcestershire to be able to benefit by the provision of this life changing product via the NHS.
