So, today has been quite an uneventful day, thank you Dia-BULLY. But, my BGL’s have been high all day. Higher than where I would like them to be. What gives Dia-BULLY??
My bedtime BGL’s last night were sitting at 11.8mmol/L. Did a correction of 1.7u as well as set up a temp basal for 6 hours of 125%, blood ketones were sitting at 4.5mmol/L.
My FBG this morning was a shocking 10.2mmol/L, even after that correction and temp basal increase! Ugh! C’mon Dia-BULLY, what you doin’ to me?! I thought we had some kind of understanding!? I did my morning finger prick, calibrated my pump, 1.775u correction needed. I bolused for my morning coffees…the usual morning routine… 0.4u.
Today was weigh-in day too. I lost another 1.5lbs this week. That’s 7.5lbs in the last 3 weeks. Woohoo! I’m more than happy with that. Hopefully, I’ll keep the LCHF up and my weight and BGL’s down!! I did my household chores this morning, had someone viewing my property and took my DD to her golfing lesson. Quite a busy morning, but still my BGL’s remain constantly high! Ugh!
No lunch again today (not hungry). I did a finger prick @ 1.15pm and calibrated my pump...9.0mmol/L. Did another correction of 1u and bolused for my 2x afternoon coffees and 2 squares of Lindt 90% Dark Chocolate. I ate my chocolate at 4.30pm (so, that’s a FAT FAST of 22.5 hours again). Loving this IF!
My BGL’s have been high all day today…Meh! Just don’t understand what is going on. They are currently …10.2mmol/L (8.45pm). I feel another correction coming soon.
My dinner was 100g roasted chicken drumsticks, which I ate at 6.45pm. Followed by a cream cheese mousse! Excessively full now! No more food until after 1pm tomorrow.
My macronutrients have been good today. I’ve had 8g net carbs again.
So Dia-BULLY, I’m at a loss as to why you are causing my BGL’s to stay in the high range. Tomorrow has got to be a better day??!!
I think Dia-BULLY that we have a better understanding of one another. We both know how we can be with one another and I know that we can continue out diabetes journey amicably together. I won't be journalling our progress after today, but let's continue our journey together...being kind to each other and supporting one another...
What a day today has turned out to be! Talk about being stressed to the hilt!!! More so than yesterday. No wonder you had my BGL’s running at the high end of normal, Dia-BULLY! Anyway, unexpected emergency this morning, which lasted all day!
My bedtime BGL’s last night were sitting at 8.7mmol/L. Did a small correction …0.06u, Sadly, blood ketones were sitting at 0.9mmol/L. I really have no idea why so, because I’ve done nothing different than any other day! C’est La Vie!. My FBG this morning was a shocking 9.0mmol/L, even after that correction! Ugh! Dumb Dia-BULLY! I did my morning finger prick, calibrated my pump, 1.1u correction needed. I bolused for my morning coffees…the usual morning routine… 0.4u. That’s where my day changed! Phone call received at 9.30am from my mum saying she was feeling very unwell, so took her to A & E (advised by 111 as GP not very proactive in seeing mum!). So, missed my 2 x morning coffees, but my BGL’s remained steady at high normal levels (8’s).
No lunch again today (due to being too busy in A & E). Finally got my mum home at 2.30pm, everything ok, thank goodness! Got back home by 3pm and I did a finger prick and calibrated my pump...7.2mmol/L. Did a correction of 0.1u and bolused for my 2x afternoon coffees and 2 squares of Lindt 90% Dark Chocolate. I ate my chocolate at 3.30pm (so, that’s a FAT FAST of 22.5 hours). I was pretty hungry by this time!
My BGL’s have been high normal all day today…probably due to the emergency stress. They are currently …10.5mmol/L (7.45pm). I feel another correction coming soon.
My dinner was 94g pan fried salmon fillet, which I ate at 6pm. Followed by a cream cheese mousse! So full now! No more food until after 1pm tomorrow.
My TDD has been ok, I guess.
My macronutrients have been ok as well. I’ve had 6g net carbs again. The difference between pump (10g) and macros would be the bolused morning coffees, which I never actually drank! Oops.
Tomorrow (Saturday) is weigh-in day. Let's hope I've lost a lb or 2??!! Up to last Saturday (2 weeks back on LCHF) I had lost 6lbs. Hopefully, I can say tomorrow that I would've reached the 7lb mark!?
So Dia-BULLY, again, I understand the events of today have not been your fault and I’m glad we have worked together to try and keep my BGL’s within normal range. Thankfully, you’ve not let my BGL’s go above 10mmol/L today, well until now that is! So, thank you for that. I just hope that tomorrow there will be no dramas and that my BGL’s will be more respectable!! No gold stars again today, but we get another pat on the back for a good joint effort!
I’ve not had such a good day today. Not your fault at all. I’ve just been stressed due to circumstances that have occurred today! I guess that’s why my BGL’s have been running higher than I like to see them running at. But, I applaud you for not making them spike too high due to my stress.
My bedtime BGL’s last night were quite high at 13.0mmol/L. Had to do a correction …2.125u, Woah! Blood ketones were sitting at 4.1mmol/L, again, slightly up from previous evening.
I’m ok with that. I did an infusion set change too at bedtime. My FBG this morning came down to a respectable 6.7mmol/L, did my morning finger prick, calibrated my pump, no correction needed. I bolused for my morning coffees…the usual morning routine… 0.4u.
Skipped lunch again today…just not feeling hungry! I did a finger prick and calibrated my pump at 1.40pm...up to 9.7mmol/L. Did a correction of 1.35u and bolused for my 2x afternoon coffees and 2 squares of Lindt 90% Dark Chocolate…0.725u. I ate my chocolate at 2.30pm (so, that’s a FAT FAST of 20.5 hours). Then, I cut my front and back lawns, which took just over an hour.
My BGL’s have been raised all day today…despite doing some gardening. They are currently …8.2mmol/L (6.30pm).
They’ve been sitting steady at around 11.0mmol/L for much of the afternoon. I put in a temporary basal at 2pm for 4 hours at 125%, so hopefully, that will help sort out the above normal BGL’s. I just hope I’m not coming down with something too!?
My dinner was Roast Lamb, which I ate at 5pm. A little earlier than I would normally eat, but doing OMAD is making me physically hungry by 5ish! I suppose that’s a good thing really??!!
My TDD has been a little higher due to corrections needed for higher BGL’s.
My macronutrients have been spot on. I’ve had 8g net carbs again.
So Dia-BULLY, I realise the circumstances of my day have not been your fault and I’m glad we have worked together to try and correct my BGL’s. Thankfully, you’ve not let my BGL’s go above 11.4mmol/L today. So, thank you for that. I just hope that tomorrow will be a more successful diabetes day and that I don’t get too stressed again!! No gold stars today, but we get a pat on the back for a good joint effort!
You continue to be kind to me and work alongside me so that we can have an understanding of one another. I am amazed that we are being good to each other. I really need this to continue. I hate it when you burn me out and cause my BGL’s to spike and drop without warning. I hate it when you kick me down and cause me to hate you when my BGL’s make me feel tired and unwell. I just want us to continue being amicable because we both know there is no escaping one another…stuck like glue, we are!
My bedtime BGL’s last night were quite high at 11.6mmol/L. But a correction sorted that one…1.625u to correct! Blood ketones were sitting at 3.7mmol/L, slightly up from previous evening.
I’m happy with that. My FBG this morning came down a little to 9.7mmol/L, did my morning finger prick, calibrated my pump, gave a correction for my FBGL and bolused for my morning coffees…the usual morning routine. A large correction of 1.5u needed this morning on top of my usual morning bolus of 0.4u, for my coffee with cream.
No lunch again today…just not feeling hungry, so skipped it! I did a finger prick and calibrated my pump at 1pm...all good at 6.6mmol/L. No correction needed. So, just bolused for my 2x afternoon coffees and 2 squares of Lindt 90% Dark Chocolate…0.7u. I ate my chocolate at 4.30pm (so, that’s a FAT FAST of 21.5 hours).
My BGL’s have been steady today…again. Peaked at 6pm...not sure why!
They are currently 9.8mmol/L (7.30pm).
My dinner was Roasted Chicken Drumsticks, which I ate at 6.30pm. OMAD, the best way to eat! I thoroughly enjoyed my chicken and actually felt physically hungry for it too.
My TDD has been good today.
My macronutrients have been awesome too. I’ve had 8g net carbs. Brill!
Infusion set needs a change tonight too. Those 3 days go over very quickly!
So Dia-BULLY, let’s continue to support one another and continue to love one another, as that is the only way to go. We know we are stuck with one another, so what’s the point in fighting with each other??!! Gold star for us both again! Nice one! ⭐⭐
It was a good night. No hypo’s, no alarms, no waking up! Awesome. Thanks Dia-BULLY for working with me and keeping my BGL’s happy, although they steadily did rise between 1am and 4am (from 5.0 to 9.0), then they steadily came down.
My bedtime BGL’s were 6.1mmol/L. Blood ketones were sitting at 3.4mmol/L.
I’m happy with these. I knew my blood ketones would be lower last night due to having a little bit more protein yesterday than what I would have usually had. But, I’m ok with that. My FBG this morning was a little higher at 8.0mmol/L, did my morning finger prick, changed my Enlite CGM sensor, then waited over an hour before I could calibrate my pump. In the meantime, I bolused for my morning coffees…the usual morning routine. Only a small correction of 0.55u needed this morning on top of my usual morning bolus of 0.4u, for my coffee with cream.
No time for lunch today which is good as I’m trying to stick with OMAD. I’ve had a couple of appointments this afternoon in town, so been quite busy all afternoon with those. I did a finger prick and calibrated my pump at 12.30pm, just before my first appointment. All good at 8.4mmol/L. No correction needed.
I had my usual 2 x coffees with cream this afternoon, around my appointments. I also had 2 squares of Lindt 90% Dark Chocolate (mmm, love it!) at 2.30pm...making my fasting time 20 hours.
My BGL’s have been great today (100% so far!)…pretty much steady all day. They are currently 8.8mmol/L (8.30pm).
My dinner was a 94g pan-fried Salmon fillet (without skin), which I ate at 7pm. OMAD is definitely good for my stomach and digestion, as I was ready for my dinner this evening, and I seemed to enjoy it more with not eating any lunch. Must remember to continue to skip lunch and just stick with my dinner in the evening – OMAD, absolutely the way to go!
My TDD has been good today.
My macronutrients have been awesome too. I’ve had 9g net carbs, which is just how I like it…less carbs = less insulin!
So Dia-BULLY, it’s been another excellent day for us. Gold stars all round! Yay! ⭐⭐I just hope I’ve got you under control now and that I can keep going with my LCHF lifestyle, ditching the carbs and continuing with my carnivore OMAD! My stomach has never felt so good!
What a rough night you gave me last night. You sent my pump into alarm mode and woke me up! I checked my BGL’s to discover I was sitting at 2.5mmol/L. Thank goodness for alarms as I didn’t realise I was going so low! Pump suspended at 00.37hrs, checked BGL’s with finger prick and treated hypo with 2 x glucotabs! Job done and BGL’s slowly rose to a respectable 4.3mmol/ @ 02:07hrs.
My bedtime BGL’s were 6.9mmol/L. Blood ketones were sitting at 4.8mmol/L.
Also did an infusion set change. I feel really groggy this morning after my rough night. Thanks Dia-BULLY! My FBG this morning was good at 7.3mmol/L, did my morning finger prick, calibrated my pump and bolused for my morning coffees…the usual morning routine.
Another declutter day today (despite feeling rough), but this time I’ve been in the garage sorting through everything! I had chicken drumsticks for lunch at 1.30pm (19 hour fast), then I had my usual 2 coffees with cream this afternoon.
Finger prick done at 4pm, sitting at 9.0mmol/L. I did a small correction of 0.250u, then, calibrated my pump. I had 7 bags filled for charity and a car load of rubbish for the tip! What a busy afternoon. Still, at least I feel better after last night’s mishap.
My BGL’s have been a little erratic today…some lows/some highs, but overall, pretty much steady. They are currently 7.6mmol/L (8.15pm).
My dinner was a 94g pan-fried Salmon fillet (without skin), which I ate at 7pm.
I think I enjoy OMAD more these days, as I didn’t feel so hungry for my dinner this evening, and it gives my stomach and digestive system a good rest. Must remember to skip lunch and just stick with my dinner in the evening – OMAD, definitely the way to go. Keeps my BGL’s steady too…no spikes!!
My TDD has been good today:
My macronutrients have been awesome too. I’ve had 8g net carbs, which is so much better than yesterday. Probably had a little too much protein today, so that may affect my blood ketones tonight...Mmm, let's see!
So Dia-BULLY, it’s been another tremendous day for us. I’m not sure you deserve a gold start after my rough night though. But, I’ll take one for my good efforts keeping you under my thumb.⭐ Let’s not be mean by making me go hypo. I may have to reduce my basal temporarily?? I’ll see how tonight goes.
It’s been another good diabetes management day for me! How are you feeling about that?! I just love it when I have you under control and in your place. But, I won’t get too complacent as I know how you work and how you can flip my BGL’s without warning. So, thanks for being kind to me again today.
My bedtime BGL’s were 7.0mmol/L. Blood ketones were sitting at 3.4mmol/L.
Sleep was ok, just woke up early for a couple of hours (5am), then I slept in until 9am! Ugh! No wonder I have a headache. My FBG this morning was good at 4.0mmol/L, did my morning finger prick, calibrated my pump and bolused for my morning coffees…the usual morning routine. It’s a bit like Groundhog Day!
Another busy day today, went to view a property at 12noon, which I love. I’m hoping to offer as soon as I sell my place. I wasn’t hungry for lunch today, so skipped that…just had my usual 2 coffees with cream this afternoon. Finger prick done at 5pm, sitting at 4.0mmol/L. Calibrated my pump and gave insulin for my dinner later (dual wave over 1hr).
My BGL’s have been normal all day. They are currently 6.8mmol/L (8.30pm).
My dinner was a 150g Chicken Fajita stir fry, which I ate at 6pm (that’s a fast of about 22 hours). I quite enjoy doing this OMAD malarkey!
My TDD has been good today.
My macronutrients have been good. I’ve had 11g net carbs, which is better than yesterday.
So Dia-BULLY, it’s been another tremendous day for us. We both deserve another gold star to acknowledge our great efforts together. ⭐⭐Let’s keep on repeating this daily.
What happened overnight? You were messing with my insulin pump! But, my pump is too clever for you, suspending my insulin before you allowed me to go hypo! 2 suspends @ 10.30pm for 30 minutes & again just after midnight for just under 2 hours!
C’mon Dia-BULLY, I thought you were going to be kind to me and keep my BGL’s within range. Oh well, my pump saved the day. Nice one!
My bedtime BGL’s were 5.0mmol/L, I suppose a little lower than what I should have left it at. Blood ketones were sitting at 2.8mmol/L. Not superior enough for a photo image! Sleep was disturbed due to insulin suspension alarms, but apart from that an ok night. My FBG this morning was good at 5.9mmol/L, did my morning finger prick, calibrated my pump and bolused for my morning coffees…the usual morning routine.
Ah, except today is weigh-in day…I’ve lost 2lbs since last Saturday (that’s 6lbs since 1st June)!! The best part is though…my body fat % has decreased by 2% in just 1 week! I’m absolutely bowled over by that. It just goes to show that eating LCHF, without counting calories, works, at least for me anyway! Fat burning machine!!
I’ve had a really busy day today. DD had her golfing lesson this morning, followed by another viewing on my property. Had the laundry to do and also did a trip to IKEA to look at bedroom furniture and other stuff. All that activity and my BGL’s were running a little low. Finger prick done at 3pm, sitting at 4.3mmol/L. Alarm went to tell me I’m going low. Calibrated my pump and gave insulin for my lunch.
I didn’t get my lunch until 3.45pm 20.75 hour fast), due to being so busy. I had yellow split pea and broccoli soup (homemade), with 10g Kerrygold butter & 10mls single cream. It was ok, but not overly hungry for it. I must remember…if I’m not hungry, then DON'T eat!
My BGL’s have been normal all day. They are currently 6.8mmol/L (8.30pm).
My dinner was a Chicken Fajita stir fry, which I finally ate at 8pm. Not my usual carnivore dinner, but I had to use it up from the freezer. It was ok, but I wasn’t excited to eat it! Probably due to still being full from my late lunch! Oh dear, I’m not having a good food day today.
My TDD has been ok today. I just love having as little insulin as possible floating around my system!!
My macronutrients have been a little out due to change in food items eaten. I’ve had 17g net carbs, which is a little more than I really like to have, but I’m not freaking out over it. But, at least they are healthy carbs.
So Dia-BULLY, it’s been another good day for us. I think despite the overnight issues, we both deserve yet another gold star to acknowledge our continuous team working.⭐⭐ Let’s keep on repeating our efforts to be kind to one another.
Looking good, looking good! Hey, Dia-BULLY, we are on top form! What gives?? I’m not complaining as I feel so healthy and well with normal and in range BGL’s. Just hoping that I can sustain this good control. Let’s do this together?
My bedtime BGL’s were good at 7.4mmol/L. I did a tiny correction for overnight. Also changed my infusion set. Blood ketones were sitting at 3.4mmol/L. Slept ok and awoke with a FBG of 7.5mmol/L, same as yesterday, weirdly! Did my morning finger prick, calibrated my pump and bolused for my morning coffees. Only needed a tiny correction again this morning. Happy days!!
I’ve had a busy day today. I cleaned the whole house from top to bottom as I have people coming this afternoon to view my property. When I was done I had my morning coffees with cream. Yummy!!
I ate my lunch at 1.15pm, which was roast chicken thighs that were left over from last night’s dinner, so full now.
My BGL’s have been steady all day again. It’s getting boring now!
Viewings all done so I didn’t get my dinner until 7pm. Slow cooked streak. Fabulous!
My TDD has been awesome again. Not much insulin on board today again!
My macronutrients have been perfect. I’ve had 9g net carbs, which is so awesome. I’m actually not craving carbs at all now… Just not bothered by them. I need to remember this in case the cravings return anytime soon!
So Dia-BULLY, it’s been another fantastic day for us both. Yes, we deserve yet another gold star to mark out efforts of team working. Let’s repeat this great effort tomorrow. ⭐⭐
We are rockin’ this diabetes malarkey, aren’t we? Long may this continue? I hope I don’t get burnt out too soon. I know it will come at some point. But, for now I’m still enjoying my LCHF lifestyle. I’m still enjoying my normal BGL’s and I’m loving not craving carbs or feeling too hungry!! Dia-BULLY, I hope we can remain good to one another.
My bedtime BGL’s were a happy 6.3mmol/L last night. Blood ketones were an impressive 4.1mmol/L.
I slept well and awoke with a FBG of 7.5mmol/L. Did my morning finger prick, calibrated my pump and bolused for my morning coffees. Only needed a tiny correction this morning. Awesome!!
I’ve had another declutter day today. The weather has been so horrendous all day, it wasn’t worth crossing the front door. So, I stayed in and filled another couple of bags for charity as well as another bag for the rubbish bin. I didn’t realise how much useless stuff I have kept over the years!?! In between doing all my sorting, I had 3x morning coffees with cream. Delish!!
I finally finished decluttering at 1.30pm (19 hour fast), just in time for lunch of 125g Alpro Plain Unsweetened yoghurt, with 10g each of pumpkin seeds, Sunflower seeds, walnuts and macadamia nuts. Very filling!
My BGL’s have been steady all day again. No dramas there!
BGL currently 7.5mmol/L (8.45pm)
I ate dinner at 6.30pm. Roast chicken thighs. Scrumptious! No more food now until after 1pm tomorrow!
My TDD has been awesome again, having less insulin is great!
My macronutrients have been spot on yet again. I’ve had 10g net carbs, which is so brilliant. Who needs carbs to feel healthy? Certainly not me. I must refer back to this if I ever get tempted with the old carbs!!!
So Dia-BULLY, it’s been another great day for us both. Yes, we deserve another gold star to mark out efforts of team working and being kind to one another. Well done!! ⭐
It’s been another “normal” day today. We’ve kept each other happy, haven’t we? 12 days of being good to one another, this has got to be a record for us!! I know there will be a day when we will have a bad day and get on each other’s nerves, but until such a day, I’m happy with the way we are working at the moment. Thank you!
BGL’s at bedtime last night were 7.7mmol/L. I’m ok with this reading. Blood ketones were fantastic at 4.4mmol/L, up on the previous evening. This must be due to less protein yesterday. I’m liking these numbers.
Changed my CGM sensor at 6.30am when I awoke. My FBGL’s this morning were sitting pretty at 8.0mmol/L. So, not too far off bedtime’s reading. A small correction done and morning insulin given, job’s a good ‘un! Calibrated pump with finger prick reading. I had my morning coffees (x3), did some more sorting out…still lots to do.
Lunch was at 1.15pm, breaking an 18.75 hour fast. I had 95g roast lamb that was left over from last night’s dinner. It was lovely. Back to de-cluttering after lunch!
This afternoon I had an appointment to attend, so had my first afternoon coffee before I left. I didn’t get home until after 5pm. So, I had my dinner at 6pm which was oven baked salmon fillet, followed by cheesecake topping. That’s me done until after 1pm tomorrow. I’m hoping for a longer fasting period, maybe 20 hours. That’ll take me to 2pm tomorrow.
My BGL’s have been steady again today. All within normal limits.
The gap in the graph refers to a change in CGM Sensor. Takes time to "warm up" before it asks for a calibration!
My TDD remains pretty good. Net carbs @ 9g again.
My macronutrients have been spot on for another day. A little more protein today, but kept it under 55g. Hopefully, my blood ketones tonight will still be over 4mmol/L.
So, it’s been another good diabetes day. I’m just taking each day as it comes, because Dia-BULLY, we never know what is going to happen, do we?? Another gold star for us both, I think?! ⭐
You have been kind to me today, thank you. You have kept my BGL’s steady again and within normal range, which I love to see. I’m enjoying my LCHF lifestyle. I seem to have a renewed passion for this way of eating, after months of not caring about what I eat or my diabetes management. You have given me back control of you, Dia-BULLY. I hope this can be so, and not allow you to beat me up again!?!
Went to bed last night with a BGL of 5.3mmol/L. Did my usual night-time finger prick and calibrated my pump. My blood ketones were 3.7mmol/L, which I am pleased about. A great end to another successful diabetes management day!
My FBGL’s on waking were 5.2mmol/L, so a pretty flat line all night. Did my morning finger prick and calibrated my pump. Then, I bolused for my 3 x morning coffees using dual wave over an hour. Sorted!
I skipped lunch today as I didn’t feel hungry at all. I’m tuning into my body more since being back on my LCHF lifestyle. So, no hunger = no eating!! I spent a couple of hours doing some more de-cluttering. Believe me, I have a LOT to do, as I am downsizing from a 4-bed detached house to a 2-bed bungalow. So, I need to be RUTHLESS!! 3pm arrived and I decided I needed a break from sorting, so went downstairs and made myself my afternoon coffee with cream and I had 2 squares of Lindt 90% dark chocolate with that (breaking fast after 20.5hours). Did a finger prick and calibrated my pump. BGL’s 5.2mmol/L. I’m happy with that. Then, put dinner in oven and went back to sorting! Urgh!
Dinner tonight was roast lamb, which was cooking whilst I was de-cluttering, followed by homemade cheesecake topping!! Yum! Yum! I finished eating at 6.30pm. That’s eating done for another day…none more now until after 1pm tomorrow.
So Dia-BULLY, another good diabetes day for us. We really are getting to be a good team, aren’t we? I like it, a lot! I feel so well when my BGL’s are normal and stable. I feel full of energy when I don’t eat carbs, and when I’m fuelled by fat! What an awesome time we are having together. Anyway, steady BGL’s all day today.
The 9% hypo's happened around midnight, which I was totally unaware of, until I had a look at my graph!
BGL’s currently 6.4mmol/L (8.30pm)
My TDD has been awesome too. I love not having too much insulin on board!
Another day of spot on macronutrients:
Net carbs at 9g today…WOOHOO!
So, tomorrow is CGM sensor change day, which I will do first thing in the morning. That means there will be a couple of hours of no BGL readings, whilst my sensor “warms up”! Then, I can calibrate my pump and we’ll be rocking again. Yay!
I think, Dia-BULLY, that we are working so well together that we both deserve a gold star.⭐ Let’s forget about the points and just concentrate on being kind to one another…we’ll take each day as it comes. Sounds good, huh??
Dia-BULLY, tomorrow is a brand new day…let’s continue to work together, keeping one another happy.
Happy Monday!! We have survived 10 days being civil to one another…that is such an achievement! Long may this relationship continue, eh? What a beautiful, sunny Monday. Again, I’ve been very active today and have kept you guessing with what to do with my BGL’s! Oh well, can’t let you get too comfortable, can I?
Went to bed last night with a BGL of 9.9mmol/L, a little higher than what I wanted, but I gave a small correction and went to bed. Blood ketones were awesome…4.4mmol/L. THAT’S JUST AWESOME!
I now know why they were down the day before…due to eating too much protein. Note to self…only eat 1 protein at each meal and not more than 55g!
My FBGL’s on waking were 6.5mmol/L. I checked my BGL’s with meter, calibrated pump and bolused. I had my usual morning coffees (x3), then had to pop out mid-morning (after 2nd coffee) to run a few errands. Got home and had my 3rd morning coffee, then made some more cheesecake topping (my DD loves it and ate most of what I made the other day!), then I did 2 hours of gardening. Totally exhausted now, but burned loads of calories in the process.
I broke my fast at 1.15pm (18 hours) with 125g Alpro Plain Unsweetened yoghurt with 10g each of pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, walnuts and macadamia nuts. Lovely! My stomach is totally full now.
My afternoon was spent doing some more sorting around the house (de-cluttering, if you like). I’m hoping to move sometime this year (downsizing), so I need to de-clutter really badly. I also took my dog for a short walk in the lovely sunshine. I did a finger prick at 2.30pm to calibrate my pump. No correction needed as BGL’s steady at 4.9mmol/L.
My dinner this evening…Salmon fillet (95g). Pan-fried in butter and coconut oil…delish!! I ate at 6.30pm. That’s it until tomorrow lunch now.
My BGL’s have been very stable again all day. Dia-BULLY, I’ve done so much activity today that I kept you guessing. I love that! I must remember that being active daily keeps you, Dia-BULLY at bay! 100% within range again! Happy!
BGL’s currently at 4.8mmol/L (8.30pm). Infusion set changed tonight!
My macronutrients have been spot on again. I’m comfortable with how my eating plan is going now. I just need to keep this LCHF regime going as part of my daily living, as I know it works for my diabetes management and makes me feel healthy and full of energy. Who needs carbs? Not me, that’s for sure. Dia-BULLY, I know sometimes you try and get me to eat carbs to entertain you, but no more. I’m on a roll now. I just need to keep this going for my health!
So, another whole point to Geordie Lass…
GEORDIE LASS…9.5/Dia-BULLY…0.5 COME ON!!!!
It’s a beautiful sunny Sunday and I’m feeling happy with you. I could even say that I may one day call you my friend!! May even change your name from Dia-BULLY to Dia-BESTIE??? Let’s not get too over-enthusiastic, eh? You’ve been making me very happy over the past week and I want to keep it that way. But, I know we will have days when we fall out and get on each other’s nerves! Until such time, I’ll continue as we are…one day at a time?
Last night I went to bed on a respectable 6.8mmol/L, with blood ketones of 1.1, which I’m pleased about…good, steady numbers.
My FBGL was 5.1mmol/L, excellent start to a beautiful Sunday morning. Did my usual morning finger prick, calibrated my pump and gave myself insulin to cover my morning coffees (x3). No problem! Then, I had to go food shopping to get my cream for my coffees and a couple of other items.
Lunch was “on the go” today due to being out and about. I had my lunch at 1.30pm (18hr fast), which was 125g Alpro Plain Unsweetened yoghurt with nuts/seeds mix (10g each of pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, walnuts & macadamia nuts). My BGL’s were sitting at 6.3mmol/L prior to eating and stayed pretty much stable, rising to 6.4mmol/L 2 hours after lunch. I’m so happy with you Dia-BULLY for allowing my BGL’s to stay stable. I feel so good when that happens!
This afternoon I went over to my sister’s to see her new puppy. He’s a border terrier called Stan. He’s so cute!
I had my 2x coffees with creams at my sister’s, then got back home at 4.30pm Did my afternoon finger prick to calibrate my pump. BGL’s were 5.1mmol/L…result!!! I also sorted out my dog’s dinner; snuck in 2 squares of Lindt 90% dark chocolate before taking Charlie for a walk in the park, after feeding the hungry beast. That was at 6pm. Then, got back home from a lovely walk and made my DD something to eat, before cooking my own meal! Phew, busy times. I had 95g roast chicken thigh that I cooked yesterday. Ate at 7pm. Had another homemade cheesecake topping…yummy! I’m quite full now. No more food until after 1pm tomorrow.
My BGL’s have been excellent all day today, pretty much staying flat for the whole day. I’m happy with that, 100% in range. WOOHOO!
My TDD for today has also been good, having 9g of net carbs.
My macronutrients have been spot on again:
Next finger prick & blood ketones test will be at bedtime! It looks like it’s been another great diabetes management day for Geordie Lass. Thank you Dia-BULLY for being kind to me again!
GEORDIE LASS…8.5/Dia-BULLY 0.5
It’s the weekend and a slight change to our routine. So, let’s continue to be kind to one another and not let the stresses of the day get to us.
My post arrived late today. I received some disappointing news, something that will determine my future. I’m sad now because it’s not the outcome I was hoping for. Let’s hope the stress of this news does not alter my BGL’s in a negative way over the weekend.
My bedtime BGL’s last night were spot on at 4.8mmol/L…happy to see that number. My blood ketones were slightly down from the previous evening @ 1.2, but I’m ok with that as I’m still in nutritional ketosis. Long may this continue?
I awoke late (8.45am) with a FBGL of 5.6mmol/L. Weighed myself and I was pleasantly surprised to be 4lbs down from last Saturday. WOOHOO!! Did my morning finger prick, had my usual morning coffee with cream, bolused for this and calibrated my pump. I did not need any correction this morning. So pleased about that!
It’s raining here today. In fact, it’s been raining quite heavy overnight too. My DD is away camping until this evening, so I have the pleasure of feeding her rabbit this morning. Her rabbit is called Rolo and lives outside. Poor bunny, she will be soaking by the end of today! Anyway, I let her out in her little area, then, gave her breakfast of rabbit nuggets.
I watched a movie this morning, had another 2 x coffees with cream and did some jobs around the house. Wasn’t really hungry for lunch so didn’t eat until 1.45pm (approx. 19¼hr fast). I cooked chicken thigh portions in the oven and had 95g. Very tasty, but so full now. I was going to have Alpro Plain Unsweetened Yoghurt with nuts/seeds mix, but I was a little full after my chicken lunch. So, I left this until mid-afternoon (3.30pm) before having this little treat! Oh, also did a finger prick and calibrated my pump.
Following my little treat I had to pop out to run an errand, so I did that swiftly and got home by 4.30pm, just in time for a coffee with cream along with 2 squares of Lindt 90% Dark chocolate! I know that I didn’t really need this, but I had it anyway! Must remember, only eat when hungry???
I went to collect my DD from her camping trip at 6.30pm. I was so excited to see her. Dia-BULLY, you made my BGL’s rise when I collected my DD, spoiling my 100% target for normal BGL’s! Must’ve been that adrenaline rush when I saw her?!
I’ve had beef steaks slow cooking all day today for my dinner this evening. Although, I feel as though I have overeaten today so I’m not really hungry at all. It must be the cream I have in my coffees that are satisfying my stomach!
Anyway, I managed my dinner at 7.30pm (little later than I really want to, but wasn’t hungry). I ate 70g slow cooked steak, followed by a small serving of homemade cheesecake topping (what I made yesterday). It’s so tasty, but I’m over full now! NOTE TO SELF…stop eating when almost full and not over full. Feel a little sick now! Silly me!
Overall, my BGL’s have been almost stable today:
BGL currently 7.1mmol/L (8.30pm)
My TDD has been pretty awesome too:
I’m happy with my macronutrients, although I’ve had a bit more protein than I should have done really. Maybe the yoghurt with nuts/seeds mix was too much for me? I must just have 1 protein at each meal!!
Next finger prick will be at bedtime, probably 11ish. I'll test my blood ketones too...will report tomorrow!
So, looks like it’s been another great diabetes management day for Geordie Lass. I think today’s point goes to me again! Well done Geordie Lass.
