  1. I am type 2.. My Fasting Blood Sugar is always in the mid teens, and that is no food for at least 13 hours. I then go down to about 10 , four hours after a meal. On the rare days I am out all day and don't get change to eat at all , the lowest it goes to is 6.1. I am currently on Gliclazide, 25g twice a day. I had to come off Metformin due to severe diarrhea . I never eat anything with sugar added but it makes no difference. My Diabetic nurse insists Dawn Phenomenum only happens with Type 1 . She had never even heard of it until I printed stuff out from the Internet for her.

She is eager to push me onto Insulin but I am reluctant to go down that road. She did mention a newish drug which filters sugar out through the kidneys . She is not interested in the Dawn Phenomena and I don't know what to do. We only see her at my practice, never get to see a GP let alone a diabetic specialist.
