  1. Been trying to do OMAD (one meal a day), and it's been a great experience. Will do it at least twice a week if not more.
  2. Today I got my labs and they are very rewarding. Indeed, the LCHF diet is the cure:
    FBG: 85 mg/dl (4.7 mmol/l)
    Hba1c: 5.4 % (36 mmol/mol)
    Triglycerides: 0.74 g/l (0.83 mmol/l)
    Total cholesterol: 1.59 g/l (4.11 mmol/l)
    HDL-C: 0.58 g/l (1.49 mmol/l)
    LDL-C: 0.86 g/l (2.22 mmol/l)
    Total cholesterol/HDL-C ratio: 2.74
    Triglycerides/HDL-C ratio: 1.28
    Blood Pressure: 110/70, HR 66
BMI: 20.79 (net weight: 60.8 kg; -15 kg)

I ought to thank myself for what I have achieved without any form of medication. It's just the fruit of healthy food and regular exercise.
  3. Thought this might be worth sharing:
  4. Here are the links to 3 RCT studies focused on "saturated vs unsaturated fats" that have been ignored on purpose by main-stream research communities because they went against the diet-heart hypothesis:
  5. Finished Ramadan fasting (30 days): lost around 1 kg and a half. Weight loss is no longer top of my priority list; waiting for my next labs, due in a few days (or weeks), to assess the whole lot: diet, life style, exercise...
  6. This is an expletive presentation about why some T2D patients have high morning blood glucose readings
  7. Prof. Robert Lutg's view on sugar, metabolic syndrome and cancer
  8. A very detailed guide to IF (Intermittent Fasting) as suggest by Dr Ted Naiman via DietDoctor.
  9. Having done IF for 18 days (Ramadan), I feel ready for a major upgrade: OMAD (1 meal a day). With every day, it is becoming a viable option. Having been on a LCHF diet for more than 16 months has convinced me of the OMAD as a life choice, TMAD (2 meals a day) has been a rewarding experience. I vowed to never resume high carb junk food diets.
  10. A recently published paper concludes that well managed type 2 diabetes reduces the COVID-19 related risks

  11. Worth watching, simple and succinct:

  12. My blood check-up is due in 3 weeks. I am doing my best to achieve my goals: getting my hba1c down to 5 % (31 mmol/mol) or lower, triglycerides down to 42 mg/dl (0.47 mmol/l), and HDL-C up to 60 mg/dl (1.55 mmol/l). More weight loss as a bonus, not really a priority.
  13. I read this opinion article and found it worth sharing:

  14. A Live Streaming session by Drs B. Bikman & K. Berry. Topic: Hyperinsulinemia Risks.

  15. Emerging interesting research about sugar, insulin and cancer:
