  2. what was it like
going back in the yard i grew up as a kid.
very very strange to be allowed back in to the rec room only .but did find out that some of the children at this school had pumps and scanners for there blood sugars and control by pumps for insulin
my pic is with my dad s old morris car and my mum outside the home which is in the back ground
tell you what no body wishes to know what we had to do then 1960 no pumps no scanners just insulin and a wee test that was blue or orange
if it was blue you were ok and if orange more insulin
but i am still about thanks to all the research and people who discover the modern tech .
    thanks

  3. EVENING ALL

ON MONDAY NIGHT WE HAD A SPEAKER AT OUR SMALL DIABETES CLUB IN BURY ST EDMUNDS SUFFOLK

not had a clue who was to be speaker
but will just say this for over 1 and half hours this person held the small crowd attention, with his humour and life story of diabetics since the age of 11 months about the insulin used the doctors that inspired him and keeped an eye on him and his family, how he grew up in uny life married
eye bleeds done and repaired by the old and early laser s that welded his bleeding veins in back of the eye and saved his eyesight then how the doctors asked as he was so fit if he would like A KIDNEY/PANCREAS TRANPLANT ,
    his answer was yes ,
but had to wait for 7 organs before a right was chosen a clue was given to the crowd as the only thing he was to avoid grapefruit juice
and he missed dialysis but a few weeks great story great book all funds for the sale of the book go to a transplant unit
    great story and humours read
i do give him a few more years, and 3 years on dialysis but a very lucky kidney transplant myself great man and family
vic hill 59 years on insulin
