Was told today by my GP that I do not have Diabetes

It wasn't that they missed it, when it was reviewed by the doctor they called me in to see the nurse. I think that's just what the receptionist said when I called up for my results. I didn't think to question it or ask for the number since as far as I knew I was fine.
Having viewed my results online I can see why as she read out the part I circled in blue and either didn't see or know how to interpret the actual results in the red circle (it's worth checking if you have this set up with your GP - most of them some kind of online system to book appointments, renew prescriptions and see results).

Just to note, not all receptionists are trained to read results and they definitely should never give diagnoses over the phone. I know you have not yet been given a diagnosis but it is worth bearing in mind for the future.

So what you are saying is that my doctor might not have yet seen my results? Or I might get a phone call back yet or something? Just somthing dosn’t seem right and I’m so uncomfortable.

A doctor (or whoever ordered the tests whether it was a GP or a nurse) will have seen your results. They go straight to the person that ordered them. How well that person looked at them is anyone's guess.

For what it's worth, my GP diagnosed me at T2 on an hba1c of 45. Although a specialist diabetic nurse I know just reckoned that this was really just 'the high end of normal'. It'll be interesting to know how it works out for you.

Okay so I just want to thank everyone for all their advice and support, today I got a phone call from my doctor directly who said that I needed to come for another appointment which I did do today and I have type 1 diabetes so I will be seeing the diabetes nurse tomorrow. I know something wasn’t right regardless of people saying I’m fine, I’m over reacting etc. Thank you guys! :)

At least now you are on the right track and you have a diagnosis. I'm sure you will find the forum to be an invaluable source of information and support in the coming months as you deal with this new chapter in your life.

Ring the surgery again and ask for the actual results not just a 'everything is fine' comment. If possible get a printout of the results of your blood test/s. Failing this, make an appointment to see your GP again.
Please call or visit the surgery again and ask for actual readings and results. In September 2017 I had routine bloods taken, told results OK but that I had raised Iron levels, blood test repeated and told everything was fine. 4 days later a phone call from the surgery to say that I needed to make an appointment with the Diabetic nurse as my bloods showed high levels of glucose. I questioned the way my results had been given and was told that not all results arrive back at the surgery together and that’s why I was given incorrect information.

Yes I originally planned to pick up my results today but I got the phone call before I could do so, at least now I’ve finally gotten to the bottom of it all.

Did you tell the GP that the receptionist said you were fine? You could have died if you believed her!

Yes I mentioned it to my doctor and he had reported it and said that she had no right to say to me that everything was ‘fine’ when it wasn’t.
