As an all round exercise walking is great, but have you thought of looking for more specific exercises targeted at scoliosis? I just did a quick Google search and found this site: http://www.scoliosis.org/resources/medicalupdates/exerciseadults.php
If you type "exercise for scoliosis" into Google you'll find lots of info.

i walk a hour a day now and nearly up to 2 stone down from dec so it works and you can go at ur own pace to , my preffured exersize and no gym membership needed good luck xx
