I have been retired now for four years, the first 6 months were smashing and I was really looking forward to my retirement and getting super fit. But then I started to get one thing after another, that's when my diabetes was diagnosed and I now feel I have aged 10 years in the last four. One step forward and three steps back is my favourite saying. I keep getting up and starting again though so I try to think positive. I have had a lot of sadness, loss and stress in the last couple of years also so I think there may be a bit of a link there. I also got Labrynthitis in July 2012 which has really knocked be about and I am still suffering with some of the effects of this two years later. Larynthitis is really awful and you think you are having a stroke and going to die when it starts, it last for weeks, months before it improves or clears and in my case I am still suffering with balance problems, dizziness, anxiety and panic attacks and general un-wellness. (Is that a word I wonder) All this does not really make for good health and general well being anyway. Unfortunately I also have arthritis in my spine and general joint problems and I find sometime my diabetes has taken a back seat. For the last 6 months I have had a continuous pain in my head and ear which I am putting down to this but I will see the ENT consultant at the end of this month.

My HBA1C fluctuates between at best 6 and 10.00 last one in February l was I think 8 but I am now on Sitagliptin so hope that makes some difference. But my weight has increased instead of decreasing and I don't know why:arghh:.:(
