    Birthday:
    May 11, 1945 (Age: 75)
    Location:
    Clonard, West Belfast, N. Ireland
    Occupation:
    Retired Schoolmaster, theraputic voluntary work.
    Type of diabetes:
    LADA
    Treatment type:
    Tablets (oral)
    Medication:
A mostly Metformin hybrid and 10 other tablets/capsules. To counteract the nastier aspects of my condition and treatment I have also to apply two different forms of Hydrocortisone and E45
    Exercise:
Rarely, I just haven't got the energy now!
    Likes:
Everything I am not supposed to have. My life is only made worthwhile by the voluntary work that I do for older people but I fear I may have to give this up soon as my condition deteriorates.
    Dislikes:
    1. Frequently asked questions, 2. My medication, 3."helpful" busybodies, 4. the plight of older people in Belfast
68 years old and I'm starting to slow down way ahead of my time.My greatest enemy at present is twofold (a) tiredness, lethargy or whatever its called but it is accompanied by a relentless need to sleep - all day if need be, (b) the repugnant side effects of the huge amount of medication that I am forced to take which include a very nasty intermittent blitz type rash which, if I cannot attend to it immediately (which is most times) it appears, graduates into a series of blister like sores. The treatment for this is Hydrocortisone along with more tablets. (Chlorphenamine). The whole thing is driving me to despair and distraction.
