I love walking, being out in the fresh air, visiting our family, going on holiday with my husband, Information Technology, driving to places such as National Trust, listening to Classic FM and watching TV.
I don't really have any particular dislikes.
I am now retired but have spent most of my working life teaching, both in State and Independent Schools and latterly in Colleges. I initially taught Business Studies and English but then in 1987 I returned to the University of Manchester as an in-service teacher to do a second degree. In 1990 I achieved my degree, 2i in Computer Studies and Educational Psychology.

The demand for teachers in that subject was such that I was successfully appointed to teach Computer Studies and Information Technology at North East Worcestershire College. In 2004 I applied for a new teaching position and moved to Yeovil College,

I live with my husband, Chris in rural Dorset. My husband was a Senior Design Engineer for Honeywell Aerospace, designing parts for aircraft. Where we live is a very beautiful part of the country and we love exploring the surrounding countryside.

We have family in Herefordshire, Birmingham and Cheshire. We love spending our time with our children and grandchildren.

Since being diagnosed with diabetes on 17 May 2019, I have joined various websites and diabetes groups, as well as this forum. I find the Learning Zone of Diabetes UK excellent. The West Dorset group of Diabetes UK in Dorchester is also excellent. For members, there are regular meetings with professional speakers, as well as a regular newsletter by email. They also offer numerous free publications on diabetes and its complications.

I was very happy to find this Forum online. I am privileged to be able to have the advice and expertise of members when I add a post. I hope you have enjoyed reading about me. I, in turn, look forward to getting to know some of you and to being able to take advantage of the help offered to me on this forum.

    Sheila :)
