Diagnosed may 2014 with HbA1c of 97 put straight on 2 x Metformin. Followed nhs guidelines ie low fat and moderate carb lost 2 stone and hbac1 came down to 42. Over last 2 years following same advice slowly put back on one stone and in May 2017 hbac1 was 45 - creeping up! That summer decided needed to take action and discovered the lCHF diet, and in October 2017 intermediate fasting, and later this forum . Result!
Dec 2017 hbac1 33 (5.2) January 2018 had lost 2 stone and 7 pounds bmi now 22 . I’m also now off the Metformin gave it up in mid October as tummy troubles. I intermittent fasted 23/1 ie dinner to dinner for one month and now do it two days a week.
