    My doctor bypassed the diet stage and put me straight on metformin as i dont eat sugary foods (sweets, cake, etc) at all..except the odd pkt of crisps..and the speed of my weight loss and sudden blurry vision he decided metformin was the way to go, i started on 1/2 500mg tab then he increased...

    I Think the medical institution dont bother as much as they should, and they dont always give you the information you need to control diabetes, I wasnt given any booklets etc when i was diagnosed, just handed pills and "see you later", was the response..oh great i got a disease for life and the...

    Apparently i have to see the Nurse before they issue anything, something to do with training on the Monitor, and what is best for me...i got the Boots own brand comes with Instructions too :)

    Yeah good point, she's only at the surgery 2 days a week, i dont know why they didnt give me the strips and lancets last time i was there to collect my metformin. :roll:

    Hi Dennis, Thank you, I dont realise that the glucose lvl rises during the night thats important information as i was wondering if i changed the times i take the metformin would make any difference. Not too happy about the mortality rate tho...Guess its time to take this seriously as ive tried...

    Thanks again Sugarless Sue, I take the pill in the morning with nothing, then again evening with dinner. I will reduce my carbs as u suggest and see if it will make a difference, are they risks of T2 becoming T1 ? Out of curiousity what is the Death rate of T2 if untreated? Thanks again

    Thank you for the reply :) Typical Mon-Fri , No breakfast, 1 Pill, Lunch, sandwiches and fruit, ( feeling tired and vision going around 14h00 ish) last meal is usually a home cooked meal, chicken and potatoes, or curry , or stew..and 1 pill .no fast food..sat-sun fried brekky :) 2 meals usually...
