My DSN told me that T2's have more flexability in regards to testing their blood glucose levels, but any T2's who are also on insulin should then test their BG at l,east 4 times per day: Before Breakfast Before Lunch Before Evening Meal Before Bed

In regards to the pre-filled insulin pens, the hospital consultant, DNS, GP, Practice Nurse and Pharmacist all say that any thing left in a insulin pen should be discaded with after 28 days and start a new one.

Re: Insulin Types (update) Saw my consultant today and he's put me on Humalog Mix 50 This is two unsulis in one pen, each dose is made up pf 50% fast acting insulin, and 50% Slow acting I have been started on 24 units which is injected twice daily.

I mentioned Diabain to my Consultant today and he advised me to stay clear of such products there's another multivitimin called Daibetone aimed at diabetics, and my consultants say these are just items made just to make money out of people who are diabetic.

Ah yes can relate to this very well I was taking Humulin I twice daily starting at 8 units for each injection using a pre-filled pen, then after 1 week told to up dose to 10 units, week later 12 and so on then when I got to 26 units, was then put on Humulin M3 (mixed insulin) pre-filled pen...
