How did you feel about switching onto injections?

Byetta really didn't agree with me, so the GP took me off it. I am now on NovoMix 30 injections, twice a day and have to say I have never felt better. The injections are no problem, the Novopen needles are so fine, that you don't even feel the injection. Now I am injecting I take four less...

How did you feel about switching onto injections?

Byetta is worth a try. It affects people in different ways, so it may be OK for you. I'm having a lousy day of it today. Seeing my GP on Wednesday.

How did you feel about switching onto injections?

I started Byetta last week. Hopefully I will be off it next week as I am having a terrible time. I am nauseous all the time, have a headache and am very tired. I also think it interacts with other medication I am on, which has given me chest pain, erratic BS readings and feeling extremely...

Is itchy skin related to diabetes?

I had itchy skin on my legs, arms and torso which was diagnosed as being Eczema, which is itchy skin and red marks which are itchy. I have used a steroid cream and diprobase, which I get on prescription. The diprobase does stop the itching, but needs to be applied daily until the inflammation...

Are you hitting the 3 main diabetes targets?

2 for me. HbA1c is up the creek and rising. My Blood Pressure and Cholesterol are fine, but helped by pills.

    not sure what is meant

Just carry on with what ever you need to do, don't let it rule your life. I try to check before breakfast, always a good time. I do sometimes check after a meal, sometimes two hours sometimes longer. At the moment I am checking more often as my readings are not good, for a variety of...

    Managing gliclazide

Excuse my naivety, but what do you mean by 'seriously high readings'? I am frantically testing at the moment since my increased dose, my fingers aren't enjoying it but my diabetic nurse has given me a new regime to try, which I shall do. I think because I've had no major symptoms I've not taken...

Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

Mine was 8.8 two weeks ago. It has been rising steadily for sometime. I had to stop taking Pioglitazone last year, but still take max dose of Gliclazide, so doc is going to try me on Byetta injection from next week as my daily readings are over ten most of the time.

First pint of real ale (beer) since D (diagnosis) Day)

I have always found that alcohol lowers my BS, quite a lot, so be careful. When I was first diagnosed 14 years ago, I was told to always snack when having a drink, as this would help keep the BS levels up. So I have always followed this advice. I am suffering from high readings at the...

    2 diabetes coming back

Once diabetic, always diabetic however, good control keeps the figures down. Illness can make matters worse, so it might settle down again when the ankle heals.

    Refused blood testing equipment

Grazer, tried to sign the petition, but it is closed. Is there any way of reopening it?

NHS Scotland Diabetes On-line Records Service

Hi all, I have been using the My Diabetes My Way web site for some considerable time now, from about the time the web site started. The site has improved since the beginning and you are now able to record some of your own readings. I haven't worked out who updates the test results, the GP's...

    Byetta and driving

Being disabled, as is my wife, I value my licence. So I ensure that before driving I have had my meds and eaten properly and always carry some glucose tablets in the car. I have only had one very bad hypo (fortunately I wasn't driving) and ensure, as far as possible, that it won't happen...
