I'm sure there's more.
Kept cleaning my glasses last night especially the lens for the left eye.
Found my new as yet unused glasses and discovered it isn't the lens but my eye.
Right eye everything looks bright and sharp and I have a little bit of retinopathy in that eye as from a few months ago.
Nothing to worry about see me next year and I can't see any difference.
But my left eye!
Over a matter of hours the sight in my left eye has gone blurred and dark .... dark being the best description so I'm going to finish my breakfast have a shower and off to AnE.
Anyone heard of this before?

I haven't but just posting to say I think you're doing exactly the right thing. Eyesight is too precious to meddle with and anything like a retinal detachment or tear needs prompt attention. Hopefully you have nothing of concern going on, but I'd be doing as you are.

Good luck with it all.

Good luck at A&E ( or possibly a walk in clinic if available ?) but always best to get it checked out.

All the best, take care RRB

Cheers AB.
I've never heard of eyesight going down hill like this over a short few hours.
I don't think retina detachment as I've spoken to people who've had that .... not recently but I don't recall anything like this.
I'm thinking possibly a tumour of some kind.
Into the shower probably have time for another post before going.

Don't get ahead of yourself - from recent experiences with my husband's eyes, it's quite likely to be a detached retina - a shadow coming over one eye, and/or flashes are signs, and yes, it can happen quickly and often with nothing to warn you. Don't panic yourself into thoughts about tumours! If you can get someone to take you to A&E all the better as they'll put those drops in, and everything is SO bright for hours - don't forget your sun glasses.

PVD?
AnE were great did tests put dye in and stuff but were a bit unsure.
So a guy from a specialist eye hospital some distance away came over to see me.
Further tests and an emergency appointment this morning with him at his hospital.
If the curtain goes black I'm to go straight back to AnE where my notes say to contact him at whatever hour and he'll be over to ship me to his hospital.
I may well be having laser treatment his morning.
See what happens today.

Peripheral Vascular Disease?

That's a bit unfortunate, but at least you are receiving prompt and acute attention, in the right place. Good luck this morning. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Posterior uveitis is the least common form of uveitis. It primarily occurs in the back of the eye, often involving both the retina and the choroid. It is often called choroditis or chorioretinitis. There are many infectious and non-infectious causes to posterior uveitis.

Had eye scans and chest x-ray.
My eye is suffering a lot of inflammation.
Blood tests taken in attempt to find out why my eye is in the condition it is before they start me on any medications.
My long vision in both eyes when done on the chart is extremely good still.
Better than average in fact which the doc found a bit odd.
Got him scratching his head.
I'm falling apart!!!!

Hi JTL Have just seen your post. I had posterior uveitis 25 years ago and was given very strong steroid tablets for a year ( this solved the uveitis but gave me a cataract). Unfortunately noticed the black lace effect coming back in the same eye this summer obviously went straight to optician got referred to ophthalmologist (18 weeks later saw him on Saturday) was told it has come back but not to worry. He has not given me any medication because he said he was not sure what is old scarring and what is new? Any way I now have to wait 4 months before he does anything!! I am very worried as last time they treated it as urgent because they said I could go blind. How did they treat your uveitis? Has it gone ? Is this the first time you've had it ? And what is the prognosis ? I really would like to speak to someone who has the same as me any advice you have would be really appreciated thank you

I went to AnE because I didn't have a clue what was happening.
Saw me pretty quickly.
That was on a weekend but they made an emergency appointment for me on the Monday at the eye hospital.
It's there I was diagnosed. An appointment was made to go back three weeks later and when they checked my eye which now seemed back to normal to me they said I now had 20/20 vision so they didn't want to give me anything or do anything. I am to go back I think in February unless it starts to deteriorate and they will see me within 24 hrs. The guy looking in my eye told me that I had a lung problem which he could tell from looking in the eye but what he said it was it turned out not to be. Turned out to be COPD but that's not 100% till I go back to the chest department in February I think. Sorry I can't be of much help.
