Not being able to like beer anymore!!
Actually, I forgot something....
I didn't have my usual turkey salad yesterday - I just posted that out of sheer habit. Instead I was seduced by a chicken & chorizo cornish pasty! Probably more carbs in that than I'd eaten so far this week. But dear lord it tasted good.

Off work with a bad back today so I'm doing a sneaky fast while I'm doing all this hobbling around and laying down.

B & L : Nothing, just water or red bush tea
D: Whole avocado, 180g prawns and massive chopped salad of romaine lettuce, cucumber, celery (lots), raw mangetout, radishes, spring onions dressed with chilli olive oil.
Evening snack - if needed for medicinal purposes ;) - Little bar of Moser Roth (Aldi) 75% Chocolate

Hi @petepontiac . This is the low carb diet forum. If you're not on restricted carbohydrates (and you're clearly not) then you might prefer to post on the main forum. The link is http://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/threads/type-2s-what-have-you-eaten-today.75783/

That way you're more likely to get appropriate comments instead of chumps like me saying that you're doing it wrong!!

I wish, wish, REALLY wish I could tolerate weetabix with banana (and milk). It used to be my regular workday breakfast before I started low carbing.

Every day I open the cupboard and there is a box of Porridge Oats and a box of Weetabix staring at me.

So far I have managed to resist, but what I would give up to eat a bowl of porridge is increasing daily.

Yes, it's the ordinary, everyday stuff I miss too. :( I'm sure in time the longing will fade but in the meantime its interesting experimenting with LC alternatives. Thankfully there are threads like this to provide inspiration.

No, it didn't affect my digestion although I got hungrier a lot quicker than I normally do with the same curry which I'd usually have with cauliflower rice.

The curry sauce was a Holy Cow one.

That's weird! Isn't konjac 100% fiber? I was afraid it would bulk things up too much. Is it worth a try or are you skipping it for cauli rice?

@Kristin251

I'm having a fasting day today but I'm planning to use the other half of the packet of konjac rice tomorrow in my work meal (if this bad back is okay enough to return to work tomorrow).

I have a fairly high fiber diet any way - I love my veg - so maybe it just sort of blended in. LOL in fact it didn't occur to me that it might, maybe next time I'll pay a bit more attention.

Rest of today
D: coffee with cream. Basa fillet with 2 tablespoons cous cous, mixed leaves and 3 cherry tomatoes, mango lime and chilli dressing. Pepsi max.
Remember to cook the fish in oven next time as followed instructions for microwave and it blew up all over the plate, luckily there was cling film over it.
