Hi All,

I am new to this but really wanted your opinions/advice. I have been type 1 diabetic for nearly 5 years since I was 27 but I have found over the last 1-2 years that my energy levels are sometimes terrible. Coming home from work I almost need a nap to recover! Have any of you found this to be the case? My sugars are stable for the most part so is it just a part of the condition?

Hiya Lynz
I am type 2, so perhaps I am the wrong person to comment. But, being terribly tired was my only symptom before diagnosis. But I think that was due to high blood sugars which are now under control. I don't have that terrible tiredness anymore now I am better controlled, but do get tired if I have had a bit of a carb overload.
Maybe you're tired for other reasons?? And perhaps you should get checked out in case you're anaemic or something .....
I'd go to the doctor for advice.
Hope you get it sorted out.

Also worth having a thyroid check, an underactive thyroid can result in tiredness and fatigue.
