I know what you mean, but I tend to think of myself more like an Italian sports car.
I have to always put the expensive gasoline in the tank and it's very expensive to change my oil, but the better I take care of it, the better it runs.
Unfortunately, I also have to poke holes in the leather 10 times a day to make sure it's running right.

It's much more fun than that. There are a million hypotheses that you can come up with and prove or disprove on your n=1 population. And you can do the experiments according to your own method! Who knows, there might even be a PHD in it just for being yourself...

Lol. More for me like an MG Metro..? I owned one once, for about 8 years.. Needed constant tuning. ;)
We're not a "science experiment".. More like a wild bet! o_O

I do not have diabetes
It's no secret that I am a guinea pig of some sort. My specialist endocrinologist has had me under a microscope (not really!) since he diagnosed me.
And a scientific paper is to be published.
I am patient A.
The amount of testing and recording I have done is in the extreme, but I couldn't find out otherwise, I had no one to go to!
Only other person has type two and RH! That was enough though!

I like the experimental side of managing T1, i'm always keen to try out new foods/exercises/supplements etc etc and see how the body reacts :) I've learnt quite a lot this way.

The frivolous response would be: "That's a great chat up line"

But for me, it is true!
By thinking what your methodology is, noting the results, and trying to formulate a conclusion, you can attempt to understand and hopefully control your condition. Far better than blindly taking drugs/treatment without understanding.:)

It's just a matter of how you look at/cope with it!

I like to think of it as a game rather than an experiment, you just need to keep yourself in-between the level's you set yourself.

I stay out of the experiment by not testing but I always inject as I know that injecting is to prolong my life, not taking it will hasten my demise.

I actually really do not mind, and mildly enjoy it lol But then again I have my Master degree in applied Science soooo that might not apply to everyone lol
