I am on metformin 1000 in the morning & 1000 at night. The DIEBETIC nurse put me on 80m GLICLAZIDE 3 weeks ago, & ive had stomach ache not too bad but I've had it since I've been on GLICLAZIDE is this normal. Thank you.

It could be the glicizide, but it will most likely be the metformin.
It is well known to cause upset stomach, cramps, diarrhoea etc.
If you ask your GP, he will put you on the slow release enteric coated type!

Hi. Yes. Metformin is usually the cause so ask for the SR version. Gliclazide rarely causes stomach problems but there is an SR version if needed but not common.

Hi I have taken both metformin and gliclaside, the metformin still gives me bad guts, but it's a job I deal with sitting down ha ha I would be more worried about the gliclazide giving you hypo,s I was taken off them I was having 4 A week, lowest 2.3 I was given an alternative agliptin or sounds like which is better
