@laughing_girl, if you need to start using insulin, there are many who will support you through the transition.
Has your doctor or dietician suggested trying the low carbohydrate diet first? There's lots of support here for that too.

I crossed over into type 2 diabetes in 2005, but didn't do anything about it until I was re-diagnosed a year ago with a blood glucose of 282 mg/dL in the US. My A1c was 9.9%. Last A1c was 5.4%.
