Hey everyone ,
I posted a small poll last year to see how many diabetics have been diagnosed with depression. I used this as part of my coursework into Diabetes and Depression at university. I have to complete a piece of research as part of my degree next year, and I have decided to look into this further.
I am interested to see whether the incidence of depression amongst diabetics is higher if they are on Lantus or Levemir (long acting insulins) compared to those on short-acting alone.
As a Diabetic who is on Lantus, and has depression myself I am really interested to see what my results show. This forum was brilliant last year for discussion of the subject, and I got some really useful data (thank you to everyone who replied).
It would be really useful if everyone who reads this discussion could reply, even if you are not on lantus/levemir, or have depression, all the replies will be extremely useful.
If those who reply could tell me the following, I would really appreciate it:
1) Are you male or female?
2) Which age group are you in; <18, 18-25, 26-35, 36-45, 46-55, 56-65 or >66?
3) Do you currently suffer from depression that has been diagnosed by a medical professional?
4) Have you been diagnosed with depression within the last 6 months?
5) Do you have T1 or T2 diabetes?
6) How long have you been diabetic?
7) What was your last HbA1c?
8) Are you taking lantus or levemir (please specify)?
9) What other insulins are you on?
THANK YOU SO MUCH.
